Cologne/Munich – The leading provider in the long-stay segment, ipartment from Cologne, has signed a long-term rental agreement for 207 serviced apartments in Munich-Obersendling in the new “Sugar Valley” development. The new neighborhood development aims to become a showcase project and one of the most sustainable neighborhoods in Germany by relying exclusively on renewable energy and not polluting the environment with additional CO₂ during construction and operation. An urban mix of working and living in outstanding architecture, digitalization and mobility is to be created here on around five hectares. “'Sugar Valley' is a decisive contribution to future-oriented and resource-conserving urban development,” says Ralph Stock, shareholder and CEO of ipartment GmbH, and emphasizes: ”The ipartment building will also be built and operated with these criteria in mind - this is very important to us and our business par
The contractual partner and owner is Darmstadt-based investor and project developer Dipl. Kfm. Peter Kolb (Kolb+Partner). After the buildings at Frankfurt Airport (177 units), in Darmstadt (180 units) and at Berlin Airport (159 units), the Munich building is the fourth project that they have successfully launched together. “We are delighted to have concluded the first rental agreement for the quarter. This location offers an incredible amount of potential and we see ourselves as an important anchor point for future tenants who want to find their bearings here. It is a milestone that we are setting together and we are proud to fill the quarter with life,” says Dipl. Kfm. Peter Kolb.
Serviced apartments in various size categories (XS-L) from 18.6 to 45.6 square meters will be built on around 8,900 square meters of gross floor area on six floors. These will be furnished in the usual stylish and design-oriented interior. Each apartment will also have a fully equipped kitchen made of real wood and a spacious workspace. The lounge with outdoor area on the first floor, a digital self-service kiosk and a working space with café will be available to all guests, as well as rental bicycles, a laundry room and an underground parking garage, also with e-charging stations. The highlight: the roof terrace with a view of the Alps. The architecture of the building was designed by par terre GmbH & Co KG.
“In an urban new city quarter in a prominent location, our new building offers the ideal combination of hotel comfort and homely privacy and provides space for new working environments, making it the perfect solution for business travelers, expats and long-term guests, but also for families looking for an individual temporary home,” says Ralph Stock.
ipartment has already signed rental agreements for around 800 new serviced apartments in 2024. The Cologne-based company will continue to expand in 2025 - including in other European countries.
