Cologne/Kiel – ipartment plans a new house with 80 fully equipped serviced apartments in the usual design-oriented style in Kiel. The location at Werftbahnstraße 240–248 is within walking distance of the harbor and the future docking station for cruise ships. The project is being developed as part of the „Kool Kiel“ neighborhood development, with the aim of urbanizing the surrounding harbor area. Completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
The building complex is designed by the internationally active Rotterdam-based architectural firm MVRDV. They are known for progressive, identity-defining architecture that combines form and function in unique ways. As already at the Hamburg Airport location, ipartment is also partnering closely with the Adore Group – the owner and project developer with a focus on sustainable, future-proof real estate concepts.
„Kiel was a logical next step for us – a city by the water and the growing urban environment are perfect prerequisites for our concept. With MVRDV and the Adore Group by our side, we look forward to another strong project in the north,“ explains Marcus Löwe, COO of ipartment GmbH.
In the new building, which consists of three cubes, ipartment has leased around 3,700 square meters. These are located on the so-called first and second floors, which connect the three cubes. The apartments are divided into two categories: 51 units of the XS category with 22 square meters each and 29 units of the S category with 27 square meters each. In addition to the digitized guest journey, there will be a design lounge and a digital self-service kiosk for guests. Living space is planned in the upper floors above.
A daily-use store and a newly created public transport stop are located in the immediate vicinity. Kiel Main Station is within a five-minute drive. A new municipal indoor swimming pool is located in the immediate vicinity of the future ipartment building.
